Good luck. It just so happens that I did this yesterday using the rhel5 rpm

using whatever method to do this as root…

cd /usr/lib
ln -s libcrypto.so.0.9.8 libcrypto.so.6
ln -s libssl.so.0.9.8 libssl.so.6
rpm -Uvh NessusClient-4.0.1-es5.rpm.i386.rpm –nodeps

I think they’re all the steps I needed to do.

Actually, the last time I tried OpenVAS it was quite behind. But it seems that it evolved pretty well, so I am going to try it out and compare its output with Nessus. Thanks for the suggestion.
